Senior Engineer, Worldwide Engineering Services
In 2004 I moved into the Engineering Services group as a Senior Engineer. My role in this position varied in scope. I performed thermal flow analyses for various projects, ranging from turbines to electronics cooling, to full automobile underhood simulations. I was responsible for the entirety of the project from surface prep and physics set-up, to meshing, to analysis and post processing. Aside from heat transfer and thermal flow problems, I continued working with aerodynamic analyses.Other responsibilities beyond CFD based duties were, providing technical support to clients, training new employees, and producing standard work instructions to meet ISO standards, improve quality control of our simulations, as well bring new members up to speed in a more streamlined fashion. On top of training new employees on various procedures, I was instrumental in transitioning the Engineering Services group from STAR-CD to STAR-CCM+.
Software Analyst
During my time as a Software Analyst I performed several duties. I was responsible putting each new version of STAR-CCM+ and STAR-CD through a series of tests to try and seek out bugs. I was also tasked with pushing various capabilities in the software to their limits to find where bottlenecks existed. In addition to performing the tasks, I created and provided management with reports detailing the outcome of said tests. Aside from a testing role I preformed CFD based aerodynamic analyses for various automobile manufacturers like Nissian and Mercedes-Benz working to validate the code against experimental results.
