since childhood i was very much interested to draw water color s of natural sceneries.i was driven beyond the painting images.From my painting backdrop and constant visit to various painting exhibition. i felt artistically drawn to photography and cinematography particular as an art form.The use of a technical system of cameras and film to make images attracted me.I learnt my art of cinematography on the job,working under DoP's for several years.i like to create images on screen which have a painting-like quality.i assisted seniors in kolkata from 1981,visiting shootings of bengali films in varius studios.I attached myself to the National Film Development Corporation in Kolkata which gave me an opportunity to work for Oriya and Manipuri films.Later, i established myself in the Assamese film industry as an independent DoP.
