As a partner in Cowell Clarke’s Dispute Resolution practice group, I practice predominantly in commercial litigation, with specialist expertise across corporate and personal insolvency, business and contract dispute resolution, probate and estate dispute resolution and defamation law. I support large and small scale litigation for national and international clients. I also have a focus on alternative dispute resolution as an adjunct and alternative to legal proceedings. I advise and act on behalf of liquidators and trustees in bankruptcy in relation to preference claims, insolvent trading claims, uncommercial transactions, retention of title claims and debt recoveries. My experience also includes representing creditors in resolving and/or defending unfair preference and uncommercial transaction claims, and acted for individuals in relation to bankruptcy.I act for plaintiffs and defendants in relation to both small and large scale contractual disputes involving trade practices, misrepresentation, sale of goods and copyright disputes.I also act for individuals in the administration of deceased estates, including advice on trusts, stamp duty and tax issues, and in litigation involving disputes as to the validity and construction of wills and maintenance claims by beneficiaries under the Inheritance (Family Provision) Act.In defamation actions I have acted for both plaintiffs and defendants, including a large national television and radio broadcasters.
