My early college career was spent at a community college before I transferred to George Mason University where I have met some amazing people and professors who push me to continue to work towards my dream of going to medical school and becoming a doctor. I'll admit it hasn't been the easiest thing in the world, especially with the pandemic hitting right in the middle of it all. Continuing to work hard and trying to keep a good attitude got me through it and now I'm in my senior year feeling both relieved and a little anxious. Currently, I am working as a medical assistant mainly focused on covid testing. This position has given me more hands-on experience with patients. I also try to shadow different physicians whenever possible to learn from them, one-on-one, what the daily functions of a medical practice are actually like. Doing so has been so invigorating and allowed me to completely understand the behind the scenes of the job. It's allowed me to really dive into the field and I've only become surer of myself in the process. I've always had a knack for the medical field. Of course, it did take a while to realize that that was what I wanted to accomplish careerwise. Working towards that goal has been the most prominent part of my life so far. Attending college and working as close to the field as possible has been very fulfilling and exciting and I want to continue doing so.
