Generate new business by acquiring new brokersIn addition to my duties and responsibilities as an underwriter (listed below), the following was added to my job description:• Be in charge of the main company’s brokers • Following up on all the insurance needs of the brokers from A to Z• Preparing the proposals and offers• Visiting brokers or potential customers on a weekly basis to maintain the relationship and develop the business• Negotiating terms with policyholders or their brokers• Ensuring that premiums are competitive• Proposing new products and additional added value to the brokers• Be the liaison between the broker and Medgulf• Supervise a team of junior underwriters to maintain the standards requested by the brokers

• Studying insurance proposals• Gathering and assessing background information• Calculating possible risk and deciding how much individuals or organizations should pay• Specializing in Property Insurance, Fire and allied perils• Working on all general insurance products: Workmen compensation, Third Party Liability, Money Insurance, etc.• Visiting brokers or potential customers and preparing quotes• Liaising with specialists, such as surveyors, for risk assessment• Gathering information and various types of reports such as medical records from specialists• Specifying conditions to be imposed on different types of policies, for example asking that a property owner install a security alarm• Negotiating with brokers and drawing up contracts• Writing policies.
