Growing up in Athens, GA, I took the road less traveled. Unlike many of my friends, I skipped the lure of the home-town University of Georgia and went to Georgia Tech — a decision that I now see as my first step to becoming an entrepreneur. It was at Georgia Tech where I developed leadership skills that continue to help me today as the co-founder of Global Power Technologies. At GPT, we find creative energy solutions for industries like health care and education, as well as help monitor power or integrate systems for data centers or industrial facilities. After completing my masters, I took an entry-level job at Siemens where I met my future business partner, Nasser Hamdan. It didn’t take long for my entry-level position to turn into a much bigger role. Soon, I was managing projects around the world as a lead engineer. Nasser and I co-founded Global Power Technologies in 2011 so we could use our ability to solve problems in an untraditional fashion and provide efficient, creative energy solutions to customers. My experience at a larger corporation helped shape the goals and standards for our company. In the early days of GPT, it was just Nasser and I. But within two years, we began hiring engineers that helped us grow into the company we are today. Hearing all the praise and great responses our engineers continually receive from our customers motivates us to continue to provide excellent services and exceed expectations. I am grateful that my line of work has allowed me to travel all around the world. And when I am not busy working, I am keen to explore, meet new people, and try new things. Whether my wife and I are booking a hotel for next year’s Hangout Festival or planning a New Year’s trip out of the country, we are eager to try new adventures.How can I help your company with energy management solutions?
