Nabin Borah was until 2003, the Chairman and Managing Director of Hindustan Fertilizer Corporation, an India based multi-locational firm conducting fertilizer production and marketing operations. Mr. Borah was responsible for managing production, technology, financial, human resources, project management, materials management, industrial relations, and corporate planning operations. He also has experience in implementing a Rs 5.85 billion ($130 million) revamp Project and a Rs 3 billion ($66 million) expansion project at the Namrup unit of Hindustan Fertilizer Corporation. Mr. Borah was single-handedly instrumental in implementing (i) the first natural gas based fertilizer plant in India and (ii) the first indigenously developed process for manufacture of Urea. He holds a B Tech degree in Chemical Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering. He has specialized training abroad and within India in chemical engineering and fertilizers.Mr. Borah was also Director of Eastern India at Fertilizer Association of India. He was also the Chairman-Upper Assam Region, Institute of Engineers India. In addition, he has also served as a Director in the Board of Directors of Assam Gas Company Limited.He is presently also a council member for Gerson Lehrman Group - a multi-domain speciality consulting firm.
