Nabiry is Partner and Heads the IP/ Corporate Department at ECA, working with many international law firms in the IP field by supporting their client's IPR matters in Tanzania, Zanzibar, and ARIPO in the areas of:-Trademarks, Patents, Designs, and Copyrights Registration and Prosecution.-Draft and submit oppositions.-Cancellation and appeal actions-IPR Registrations/Renewals, -Investigations; -IP Enforcement & Litigation.- Corporate and Legal Advisory.

The GAC serves to advise the President and CEO in the following areas:Advocacy – by identifying regional policy trends or issues that should be addressed by the Association.Membership – how to grow corporate membership in each country/region by identifying key potential INTA Members and proposing venues for workshops or receptions.Communication – how to better communicate relevant issues or achievements in each country/region.

Develops and advocates the Association’s policy regarding anticounterfeiting and enforcement issues. The committee will monitor developments in treaties, legislation, regulations and other enforcement mechanisms in various jurisdictions, complete analyses and propose policy recommendations to the Board. Work includes report and submission writing, interaction with anticounterfeiting organizations and advocacy in conjunction with relevant INTA committees and staff.

Mandate of the Committee: The Committee acts as an advisory body to the Governing Council on all matters pertaining to the young lawyer members’ welfare. The Committee should continually develop and implement innovative approaches to address the socio-economic needs of young lawyers members and to enhance junior membership benefits.Responsibilities of the Committee1. Review, assess and propose to Governing Council methods of implementing, where feasible, recommendations relating to young lawyers in the legal profession;2. To address the needs of young lawyers such as trainings needs, economic welfare needs, social needs, ethics and professional compliance needs.3. To link young lawyers with national and international forums or meetings and opportunities4. Supervision of TLS member projects including TLS Young Lawyers Forum in Chapters, AGM and Diversity Conferences.5. Strengthen linkages with the East African Law Society (EALS), SADCLA, PALU, Commonwealth Bar Association, and the International Bar Association (IBA) and ensure that the benefits and opportunities of the Associations are clearly communicated to young Lawyers members.6. Develop programs to assist young lawyers setting up law practice for the first time and continuing sustainability in practice through: a) Mentorship programs b) Moot court programs c) Exchange and sharing experience program d) Structuring legal debates on emerging legal issues for Young Lawyers7. Enhance the relationship and facilitate communication between young layers and other stakeholders including the judiciary, law enforcers and regulatory authorities on matters pertaining to the welfare of members.8. Revise or review researches conducted by Young Lawyers pertinent issues affecting young lawyers which hinder them from fulfilling their statutory obligations.
