A pencil, ruler and rubber or perhaps a sharpener from time to time; those were the essential tools that followed me around as a child whilst I imagined, designed and drew my perfect, dream house. ✏️📐 It was inevitable that I would pursue a career in design. However, it was only until recent experiences that I narrowed that choice down to becoming an architect.Pursuing my passion, I completed my Bachelor of Architecture (Built Environment) at the University of Moratuwa where I learnt the fundamentals of spatiality, design and innovative design responses for complex problems. I also obtained hands-on practical knowledge in Design Software such as AutoCAD and various other 3D modelling tools including Revit, 3D Max and Photoshop. I then went on to complete my Master of Project Management at Central Queensland University.I have also gathered 9+ years of experience in concept, final plan drawings, project management, &cost estimation with demonstrated results in improving costs up to 20% by streamlining material selection.𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐀𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬🏆Assisted the senior engineers to develop a framework for the budgeting and costing processincluding labour, material and overheads which helped to reduce the mobilization costs by 12%.🏆Prepared architectural plans, sections, elevations and as-built drawings using AutoCAD whilst being recognised for meeting strict project deadlines through strong organisational and prioritisation skills.🏆 Introduced changes to preparing BOQs through a framework to select the right parts, enhancing accuracy by 10%.I would love to bring my passion and curiosity to Architecture & Design, learn new technologies, discover trends and develop high-quality designs for a sustainable future.Looking for your next innovative-thinking Architectural Drafter?
