Nadeem Anwar is regional manager, Social Performance Manager in the Policy Government and Public Affairs (PGPA) in the Chevron Africa and Latin America Exploration and Production Company based in Houston, Texas. Nadeem joined Chevron in 1993 as Public Health manager in Papua New Guinea. Since then, he has held positions of increasing responsibility, including managerial, in Corporate Social Responsibility, Public Health, Community Development, Training, Learning and Development, and Policy, Government & Public Affairs. Since October 2011, Anwar has led the Corporate Responsibility initiatives and Policy, Government & Public Affairs activities for the company’s entries into Liberia, Sierra Leone, Morocco, Mexico and several supporting business around the globe. Before joining Chevron, Nadeem worked for the United Nations High Commission for Refugees as both a physician and an advisor in Afghanistan, Cambodia and Pakistan. He also served as a private consultant to oil and gas companies in Chad, France, Gabon, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Singapore and Thailand. Nadeem has led many meetings with African Presidents and has been a speaker and panelist on many platforms including United Nations, Harvard School of Public Policy, Harvard School of Business, and Rice University, School of Business to name a few. He has also volunteered teaching at US universities. Nadeem Anwar is a recipient of the Chairman’s Award for individual performance, Chevron’s highest performance award. He speaks many languages and holds a Master of Science degree in Public Health, with a focus on international development, from the University Of Utah School Of Medicine. He also holds a Doctor of Medicine degree and a diploma in Disaster Management.
