• Work as the primary North American Customs Trade Compliance Analyst for a 3.5-billion-dollar Tier 1 automotive company (US and Canada).• Handle all daily customs compliance activities and interactions with suppliers, brokers, customers, 3rd parties and all North American Cooper locations.• Complete C-TPAT certifications successfully and perform internal C-TPAT audits.• Build and successfully implement the risk-analysis process for C-TPAT re-certification.• Provide classification for all North American import/export items, resolve customer HTS discrepancy issues, country of origin determination and FTA (Free Trade Agreement) eligibilities.• Work with 3rd party to provide FTAs for all eligible products (ex. NAFTA, CAFTA, KORUS, etc.).• Interact daily with brokers, provide Tariff Code (HTS), Schedule B and ECCN classifications.• Determine the best methods of transporting shipments (T&E bond, IE, TIB and clearance).• Interact with our Mexico team daily for Mexico related transactions.• Successfully built a Cooper Access database to handle all contact information, HTS classification, and empty returnable (IITs) to increase efficiency.• Manage, approve, and pay all billing related to Customs duties, fees, and charges.• Work to mitigate Section 232 Steel Aluminum and Section 301 China tariffs both pre-entry and post-entry.• Work to resolve and prevent CF28, CF29, ADD, and CVD issues.• Work to decrease risk by starting and integrating tooling and engineering assist tracking programs.• Involved in the development of broker SOP and drawback process for US and Canada.• Use software such as PLM, Windchill, Fluid Windchill, Vanguard, BPCS (B-picks), SAP to get data.• Manage and complete multiple projects successfully at the same time.• Recently PASSED the U.S. Customs Broker’s License Examination on the FIRST TRY!
