Identify conditions and behaviors that put people at risk for exposure to environmental contamination. Translate scientific assessments and scientific concepts into plain language, develop educational materials and web content and coordinate communications for high-profile and complex projects. Identify and prioritize overburdened and under-served groups within communities, conduct community outreach and engagement, write grants, and plan, develop, and evaluate program activities. Convene public meetings, open houses and community advisory committees, co-author technical reports, disseminate findings to stakeholders, work collaboratively with partner agencies, and develop risk communication for any number of environmental health topics. Participated in the planning, organization and implementation of the grant funded Healthy Corner Stores Initiative; Provided education, guidance, and technical assistance to influence policy along with accurate and persuasive communications; Monitored overall project progress ensuring grant deliverables were met; Prepared reports, updated logic models and evaluation plans as needed and monitored project expenditures. Presented program outcomes at the 2014 OPHA Annual Meeting.

Coordinated all operations related to rural youth garden project (ages 16-21) in Sweet Home, OR including participant recruitment, meeting facilitation, data collection and analysis, community outreach, microenterprise development, and creation and maintenance of the garden site. The "Producing for the Future" project targets at-risk youth transitioning to adulthood, working in partnership with adult volunteers and university researchers through a community based participatory process.

Worked alongside staff on the assessment phase of the Climate Smart Communities Scenarios Health Impact Assessment (HIA) in collaboration with local health departments, community groups, and other stakeholders. Primary duties involved literature reviews and summaries, analysis and reporting.

First-hand experience with a national nonprofit-work included regular editing and writing for web and print communications, marketing and administering a major photo contest, outreach for Alliance publications, helping develop the 2009 Annual Report, outreach to sponsor and partner groups, and other communications tasks.
