I am a dedicated Research Scientist with a strong background in toxicology, molecular neurobiology, and translational neuroscience. My Ph.D. and over five years of postdoctoral research have focused on elucidating the role of environmental contaminants in the etiology of neurodevelopmental disorders, particularly autism. Currently, I serve as a Research Scientist at Robarts Research Institute, where I leverage advanced neuroimaging techniques, including functional MRI (fMRI), to investigate the underlying mechanisms of Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases. This role allows me to adeptly integrate my expertise in toxicology and molecular biology with cutting-edge neuroscience to advance the understanding of disease mechanisms and facilitate the development of innovative therapeutic interventions. I am also honored to have received the prestigious Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship and the York Science Postdoctoral Fellowship, recognizing my contributions to neurobiology and toxicology. My technical skill set encompasses a range of advanced molecular, cellular, and biochemical techniques, including CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing, qPCR, ddPCR, ELISA, Western blotting, RNA sequencing, immunohistochemistry, mass spectrometry, HPLC, ChIP, WGBS, iPSC culture, and in vivo and in vitro toxicity testing. With a robust publication record of 26 papers and significant citation impact, I am an active contributor to the scientific community, serving as a reviewer for several respected journals. In addition to my research, I am passionate about education and mentorship. I have led diverse courses and guided students from undergraduate to postdoctoral levels in project development and research execution. Driven by a commitment to apply scientific insights to real-world health challenges, I strive to improve quality of life through innovative research at the intersection of neurobiology, toxicology, and translational science.
