About Nadhine França

In 2017 I changed careers, I left the IT industry and a public service position for the craft beer market in Brazil. Only three years later I would become the first woman president of Abracerva - Brazilian Craft Beer Association, an entity that brings together almost 800 members among breweries, brewpubs, sommeliers, suppliers, and retail outlets.I am very proud to have led the formation of an extremely diverse board, made up of incredible professionals from all over the country with knowledge from various sectors. This aggregating power of knowing and connecting to people has always moved me.In the year 2020, with one of the biggest health and economic crises in Brazil, the sector was severely impacted, with an absence of events and empty bars. I represented the association before the government in search of much-needed help and tax benefits, since a large part of the breweries indicated that they had active tax debt. In addition to dozens of meetings to explain why restrictive measures for the sale of alcoholic beverages could be catastrophic for the sector.During my term, agreements were reached with large companies to make the strategies adopted in the on-trade and off-trade more flexible. Besides the implementation of the Code of Ethics to promote better market positioning, and to encourage inclusion, diversity, and equity in the sector. Discussion started before I became president, of the Abracerva Diversity Nucleus, a nucleus I created. Before that, as a sommelier and brewer, I was never limited to the usual activities of those positions. In production I had experience in various sizes of breweries, in organizing events and congresses, judging in beer competitions, bar service, opening the door for home brewers to become professionalized, in education and promotion of beer culture with customers. I experienced all the stages in various sectors of the market, which helped me to build a broad vision of the beer market in Brazil.I conceived the Batom Vermelho (Red Lipstick) Project, where 2,000 liters of beer were produced and sold in cans and draft beer, with the proceeds going to institutions fighting breast cancer. With a national mobilization of women in the brewing industry, uniting 20 sisterhoods and more than 470 professionals. The profit from the sales was reverted to entities that help women with breast cancer. The project had two editions: 2018 and 2019. Elected in 2018 as the best beer by popular vote by the RockBreja Blog. This project represents everything I believe the beer market can be: connected and with purpose.
