About Nadia Ayed
I am currently working as a Research Associate at I-SPHERE, Heriot-Watt. I previously completed my PhD at Queen Mary University of London exploring experiences of homelessness, housing precarity and care provisioning through a social capital lens. The thesis sought to identify what is afforded by certain social relationships and connections with services and to discern whether such affordances are sufficient in leveraging an individual out of homelessness. It also focused on the ways in which social capital is strategised within the sector, and aimed to critically identify possible limitations of doing so.I am a mixed-methods researcher, and enjoy multi-disciplinary work.
