The term comes from Old French, and Latin before that, to literally mean 'death pledge.'" So to avoid that association, although I'm technically a Mortgage Broker, I prefer to say that I’m a lending specialist!I worked in my parents business from a very young age and saw my dad go from meeting to meeting with the same clients coming back time and time again. Work was usually the main conversation at the dinner table too and for my sisters it was a sore point but for me it was inspiring. I saw how much he cared for his clients and that they were almost an extension of our own family. He made such a difference to their lives and in turn that helped provide for our family. Although I was only 12, I decided that’s what I wanted to do too. I want to utilise my problem solving skills and attention to detail to make a difference to peoples lives and help them achieve their dreams. I workshop and negotiate with the lenders to obtain the best outcomes for our clients. I’ve seen so many clients, particularly self-employed, be knocked back by their lender, simply because they didn’t understand their financials or their potential. Having spent 15 years in accounting and finance, I have learnt how to understand the intricacies of financials and how to structure lending and tax to maximise lending. Making a difference to peoples lives and building a brighter future is our mission and we do this through support, positivity and determination. Although mortgage brokering wasn’t quite right for Ellen DeGeneres, it is definitely my calling and I love doing what I do. Financial success is not about the size of your income; it’s about the size of your dreams which are the blueprints for a legacy waiting to be built.
