At my time in SCDAO's Child Protection Unit, I have been thoroughly researching the complex procedural issues the attorneys face in all trial preparation needs for child physical abuse, sexual abuse, and neglect cases by delivering detailed and accurate memorandums. At JLC, I preformed numerous client interviews with our sexual assault and child abuse clientele in a detailed yet comforting manner while highlighting the trauma-informed approach. My proudest achievements in this job was when I advocated on behalf of 40+ survivors of institutional child abuse by collaborating with the firm partner in drafting multiple testimonials and presentations to Vermont senators and congressmen. My day to day tasks included attentively researching the law and scientific articles to draft demand letters that advocated on the survivor’s behalf. I also was able to progress cases status by assisting multiple partners in document preparation, case management, research, review, and maintenance of critical and confidential files.
