I am passionate about influencing change and improving practice in the context of safeguarding. My current safeguarding role within an acute and community trust is a varied role. I have experience in represent health within children’s social care/MASH, MARAC, Concerns Hub (serious youth violence panel), Joint agency response meetings, Rapid Response meetings, Strategy meetings, LSCP/CCG meetings and Advise on safeguarding cases that come through the trust. I facilitate safeguarding supervision (both 1-1 and group) and deliver bespoke Level 3 SG children’s training to A&E staff as well as corporate children’s safeguarding training Levels 1-3.I have a special interest in contextual safeguarding and Serious youth violence. I am a dual registered nurse (Adult nurse and SCPHN/HV) and have extensive experience in both acute and community health settings.My 22 years in A&E has given me invaluable experience and knowledge as well as advanced clinical skills. The learning never ends and this is why I still maintain my role as a A&E nurse till today. As a community staff nurse within a health visiting team for 4 years I worked with vulnerable families and children subject to child protection plans to improve their health outcomes. Delivering the childhood immunisation programme to hard to reach families within their home was a unique service I delivered and the appreciation fromParents was priceless. I am always looking at innovative ways to influence sustainable change with the aim of better outcomes for children. “Oh” and I love baking!!!
