Provide technical assistance to legal service providers across the country. Lead national webinar trainings and workshops on issues affecting unaccompanied immigrant children. Research and investigate issues relevant to clients’ asylum, withholding of removal, CAT protection, cancellation of removal, and VAWA claims. Communicate with clients, often in Spanish, to explain legal processes and procedures involved in U.S. immigration law. Conduct intakes with detained clients in the Los Angeles area. Worked for the LGBT Initiative Rights Project. Represented low-income asylum seekers, both affirmatively and defensively, in Chicago immigration courts and before the Board of Immigration Appeals. Researched and investigated issues relevant to clients' claims for relief from removal and deportation. Researched and prepared extensive country conditions packets for asylum seekers. Prepared and submitted pre-hearing brief, affidavit, and country conditions in support of client's request for withholding of removal in Immigration Court.

Assisted the president in running the organization. Reached out to Los Angeles firms interested in doing pro bono human rights work. Helped compile chapter's newsletter.
