Worked as staff technology consultant, advising external clients and leading the design and implementation of IT solutions. Areas of expertise included Data Warehousing, Database Management Systems and Portal Development and Maintenance. Representative client engagements include: Apple - Senior Oracle DBA - Production Oracle DBA in charge of 70 different Oracle instances. Responsible for backup and recovery, instance management, change management, troubleshooting, and performance tuning. Worked closely with development team in implementing standards for database design; performed code and SQL walk through inspections to ensure compliance. Served as a mentor to other junior DBAs. Compaq - Instructor - Designed and taught courseware & labs for Oracle 8I OPS on Compaq's clustered environment and Oracle tuning. CMS Oil and Gas - Oracle DBA / Data Warehouse Architect - built an integrated production reporting database. Database included well production data as well as daily estimated costs. Created data model for an integrated production reporting database using PowerDesigner (Sybase). Created physical integrated production reporting on Oracle 8.0.5 DBMS on an HP midrange system (9000 Series). Set up procedures to extract data from accounting database (Excalibur on Unidata database), KimRay RTUs and daily estimated cost reports. Set up loading procedures from a staging server into the Oracle database. Conducted multiple presentations to company executives and to the Board.
