About Nadia Haniff

I am an experienced administrator with a demonstrated history of working in the veterinary industry. My experience in organising continuing professional development (CPD) events was bolstered my previous role at Dale Carnegie, Western Australia as an Events and Marketing Coordinator. I am an adaptable team player who is able to mould to changes to my job description and adept at picking up new skills. During my tenure at the Australian Veterinary Association, I expanded my software knowledge to include: InDesign, Informz, Aventri (formerly known as eTouches), Zoom Meetings and IMIS CRM systems. My philosophy is that knowledge is best shared and am always eager to pass on what I've learnt to colleagues. Prior to leaving on maternity leave, I created how to guides and conducted mini training sessions for my colleagues. At the heart of it all, I am a people person. I love interacting with people and helping them. This drives me to find innovative solutions to business requirements while ensuring maximum client satisfaction.     Following a restructure within the organisation, the WA, SA and NT divisions of the AVA were combined to form the Western Region. Consequently, my role was expanded to include communications and event coordination for all three states.During my tenure, I was tasked with organising, promoting and running the Top End Conference (Darwin), WA State Conference and smaller one day CPD and membership events across the region.

    I am responsible for managing the logistics for upcoming CPD events in WA. This includes seminars and our annual AVA WA State Conference. The AVA WA State Conference is the largest divisional conference in Australia for the veterinary profession. Our Friday night Trade Fair is a draw card for anyone involved in the veterinary profession and attracts trade exhibitors from across Australia and overseas to attend. In 2016, we attracted 430 guests and 65 trade exhibitors on Friday night. I am responsible for maintaining a positive relationship with clients and vendors to ensure the best possible outcome for our conference. This includes identifying sponsorship opportunities and pitching them to potential clients. On the day to day level, my client communications role extends to social media and digital marketing. I am responsible for generating the fortnightly e-Line via Informz. My boss has dubbed me the "Queen of Copy" for my advertising blurbs which aim to be informative and entertaining without being salesy. I also maintain the Facebook page for the WA division of the Australian Veterinary Association. The Facebook page had 1300 likes when I first started and as of May 2016, the number is up to 2000 likes. Aside from updating the page with upcoming events, I resource content that would be relevant to vets. This includes informative pieces as well as more light-hearted memes. I also create content using InDesign - especially during the lead up to our annual state conference. I only started using InDesign in November 2014 and I am now the go to person for in-house InDesign work. This has significantly increased productivity in the state office as previously, we would have to send our documents to our head office in Sydney to implement minor edits. Instead of waiting overnight for a change, I can now fix the problem within the hour.
