To celebrate the semi-return of freedom (hooray for preschool!), I am now offering my services to companies in need of a creative professional. Anchored by my flair for the written word, clients can be assured of quality, tailor-made content - not generic paragraphs that have been tweaked to suit their products and services. I am experienced across different platforms and I relish the opportunity to work with any new ones that is thrown my way. My preference is to work at home but with the right conditions, I may be coaxed out of my cave.

Following a restructure within the organisation, the WA, SA and NT divisions of the AVA were combined to form the Western Region. Consequently, my role was expanded to include communications and event coordination for all three states.During my tenure, I was tasked with organising, promoting and running the Top End Conference (Darwin), WA State Conference and smaller one day CPD and membership events across the region.

I am responsible for managing the logistics for upcoming CPD events in WA. This includes seminars and our annual AVA WA State Conference. The AVA WA State Conference is the largest divisional conference in Australia for the veterinary profession. Our Friday night Trade Fair is a draw card for anyone involved in the veterinary profession and attracts trade exhibitors from across Australia and overseas to attend. In 2016, we attracted 430 guests and 65 trade exhibitors on Friday night. I am responsible for maintaining a positive relationship with clients and vendors to ensure the best possible outcome for our conference. This includes identifying sponsorship opportunities and pitching them to potential clients. On the day to day level, my client communications role extends to social media and digital marketing. I am responsible for generating the fortnightly e-Line via Informz. My boss has dubbed me the "Queen of Copy" for my advertising blurbs which aim to be informative and entertaining without being salesy. I also maintain the Facebook page for the WA division of the Australian Veterinary Association. The Facebook page had 1300 likes when I first started and as of May 2016, the number is up to 2000 likes. Aside from updating the page with upcoming events, I resource content that would be relevant to vets. This includes informative pieces as well as more light-hearted memes. I also create content using InDesign - especially during the lead up to our annual state conference. I only started using InDesign in November 2014 and I am now the go to person for in-house InDesign work. This has significantly increased productivity in the state office as previously, we would have to send our documents to our head office in Sydney to implement minor edits. Instead of waiting overnight for a change, I can now fix the problem within the hour.

Perth Salsa Scene aims to promote the current dances of the scene (Salsa, Bachata, Zouk, Cha Cha and Merengue) by providing dancers with an up to date event schedule and resources to keep them inspired and engaged. It is a non-profit community run purely out of passion for dance.

I was an integral member of the team, tasked with a number of important administrative functions. I was heavily involved in the day to day running of the office, while focused in my main role of maintaining and updating the client database and coordinating marketing projects. I was also in charge of the seminar business. Unlike the time-phased programs, seminars were short, sharp, tactical one day workshops designed to provide a knowledge boost to clients. I ran email marketing campaigns, liaised with clients throughout the enrolment process and took care of the general logistics associated with running a seminar.

I worked as a research assistant with the university's Centre for Linguistics. I was involved with a project that was focused on creating a database of words from the various Aboriginal languages in the Central Desert (Arrente) region of Australia. This involved interpreting and transcribing words from historical sources such as old word lists and microfilm from the collection housed at the Alexander Library in Perth.

I tutored children (ages ranging from 6 to 13) on a one to one basis in English and Mathematics.
