As the digital editor at Cape Town Partnership, I was responsible for producing articles for the website, editing contributor pieces, sending the monthly newsletter and attending events on behalf of the communications team. I also helped with management of social media streams.

While I have honed my skills in travel writing, I am passionate about all sorts of storytelling - from general news reporting to putting together user-friendly copy for corporate websites. There's nothing as satisfying as connecting the dots to reveal a new dimension to any topic under the sun, really. I am comfortable writing in both English and Afrikaans.

In addition to writing stories about travel-related topics and taking the odd photograph, I also assisted in the everyday running of the website, as well as social media updates - mostly Twitter and Facebook.

As a student journalist at the Media24 Journalism Academy class of 2010 I have had the opportunity to work at a variety of Media24 publications so far this year.I started out as a general reporter at Die Burger Oos-Kaap in Port Elizabeth. I spent four months garnering as much newspaper experience as I possibly could in this time.From there I went on to the online platform working as a intern content producer for GoTravel24.com for a period of 2 and a half months. The rest of my year will be spent working at a magazine.

While completing my Master's Degree in English Literature I was an English (Fact and Fiction stream) Tutor for First Year students. This involved presenting two tutorials a week per class in which we discussed short stories, poetry, plays and novels. I also had to mark their assignments, essays and exam papers.
