Support Asylum Seekers, support refugees and people looking for lost family members. Face-to-face with caseworker and service user, excellent communication and listening skills, aware of conflict and migration issues and sensitive to cultural issues including those relating to gender, dealing with difficult or challenging situations, using emotional support skills in a calm and responsible manner, uphold the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and adhere to the Society's Equal Opportunities Policy. One to one support to caseworker and service user undertaking sensitive and comprehensive interviews with service users to assess their needs, plan of action with caseworker and service user, support caseworker and service user to access other services like NHS, Local Council's, Job Centre, Housing Benefit, legal representatives and social services, offering onward referral to relevant bodies as appropriate, identify and respond appropriately to safeguarding and protection issues with vulnerable SU including children and vulnerable adults.Refugee Support Interpreter (Interpreting role), consecutive interpretation & simultaneous interpretation, link people who use the refugee support, family reunion and anti-trafficking services. Facilitating communication between caseworker and service user providing interpretation and/or translation services either by telephone or in person, interpreting/translating according to the British Red Cross Interpreting Guidelines, assisting clients in completing forms in their own language.
