Nadine Bernhardt holds a diploma degree in Biochemistry from the University of Leipzig. She finished her PhD in Neuroscience with Klas Kullander at Uppsala University (SE) in 2010. After that, she worked as a Swedish Research Fellow in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology at Yale University (US). Between 2012 and 2016, Nadine was a post-doctoral researcher at the Neuroimaging Center Dresden (DE), directing her interests toward mental health research. Since 2017, she is head of the Research Group for Neurobiology of Psychiatric Disorders at the Medical School TU Dresden. Her present research is focused on i) molecular pathways underlying behaviour and ii) implementing novel multimodal and biocompatible ECoG arrays to improve cognitive functioning for the potential treatment of affective disorders and addiction. In addition, she actively aims to improve the translational integration of studies in animal models and human patient populations.
