When I reflect on my 20 + years within the tile industry I realize that tile is literally a part of my being. As a women in a male dominated industry, I never let that define me. I asked questions, completed trainings, observed installations and taught myself AutoCAD to become an expert of the industry I love. Having an eye for design is important but understanding the process beneath the tile is essential. I spent the last 10 years of my career with the goal to combine incredible design that would also be functional, durable, safe and installed correctly. In 2017 I was approached by Schluter Systems with an opportunity to break through a glass ceiling and become the 1st Women Field Representative within North America. I was up for the challenge and was officially hired in 2018. The Schluter Family changed my life in many positive ways. Management let me find my own path within the role. It was obvious that I was different from the typical Schluter Representative and I used that to my advantage. I wrote and presented seminars to tell my story and how I became successful within the industry.My family moved to Florida in 2021 and I started to work for Specialty Tile Products within the Commercial sector of the industry. I work hand in hand with the A&D team to pull specs through by completing quotes, VE opportunities and building relationships with my commercial contractors.
