As the Kentucky representative for the National Network of Early Language Learning (NNELL) my goal was to reach out to teachers of World Languages for the purpose of sharing ideas and to mentor new teachers. I created professional development opportunities both virtually as well as in person with hands on activities. As a representative of NNELL, participating in professional development and networking at regional, national conferences including ACTFL, CSCFLT and SCOLT.

As a Spanish teacher in a Jefferson County Public schools, my responsibilities included developing curriculum that is inline with the standards and English learning curriculum, lesson planning while assessing hundreds of students on a weekly basis. As a coach for STLP students have developed a project to create a more inclusive environment for both Spanish speakers and Spanish Language learners In addition to this, I have worked as an interventionist for reading and math in K-1, coached Girls on the Run and lead a school based Girl Scout group. The mission of the National Network for Early Language Learning (NNELL) is to provide leadership to advocate for and support successful early language learning and teaching.

Online educator p-12, lead on a variety of projects including curriculum development, training, and assessment.

As a Spanish teacher in a Jefferson County Public schools, my responsibilities included creating curriculum, lesson planning and assessing over 600 students on a weekly basis. Communication is key in order to incorporate the home-school relationship; therefore, I also managed a website to keep learners and their families involved with learning Spanish. For learners whom did not have access to computers at home, learning goals were sent home and developed to encourage learning outside of class.

Contributed to the KWLA as an early language learning consultant, presented language acquisition strategies at the local, state and national level. Created opportunities to mentor language teachers and worked with a network of dedicated world language specialist on the annual state conference, advocacy and professional development.
