British Gymnastics is the national governing body for sport in the UK. As the Senior National Coach, she worked closely with the Technical & Performance Director, the Rhythmic Programme Manager and the Rhythmic Gymnastics Technical Committee to raise the technical level and increase the talent pool of Rhythmic gymnasts through a programme of support with coaches, clubs, regions and home countries. Responsibilities Included; - Selecting the gymnasts for the national team and preparation for international competitions (approx 30 gymnasts across 3 categories: World Class Start age 10-12; Junior National Squad age 13-15; and Senior National Squad age 16+). - Guiding training programmes, planning and goal setting for identified national gymnasts and their personal coaches. - Identifying clubs to support coaching and development. - Delivering the technical aspect of the national squad programme.- Mentoring High-Performance Coaches. - Providing accurate and timely information to the Programme Manager to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of the Rhythmic Gymnastics National Programme. - Coordinating the medical support for all gymnasts in the National Squad. - Taking a prominent and active role in the mandatory aspects of child protection health, safety and welfare care. - Managing and coordinating attendance at International competitions and training camps. Key Achievements; - 2 gymnasts qualified for the top 24 in 2001 World Championships in Madrid, and the team improved its ranking by 22 positions. - Rhythmic Gymnasts qualified for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens after an absence of 12 years. - Multiple world ranking events.International High Performance Coach – British Gymnastics award
