L11 NPI System Integrator Quality Management and Process Improvement

The project is under Professor Tol's research group focusing on the optimization of periodic structures for energy harvesting from wavefronts using piezoelectric strips. The project depends on theory from dynamics and vibrations, material mechanics, and circuits. I will specifically begin by modeling a simple beam, looking at placement of piezoelectric strips, and running time dependent simulations on them. The energy harvesting will be investigated by looking at various material properties, displacements, and electrical properties (power, voltage, etc.)
