In addition to this, I created our Fellowship Program model to provide regular, small-group support to teachers to develop leadership and cultural-responsiveness in the classroom.

I also created an innovative vision centered on values-based leadership development for all corps members, staff, and alumni leadership development programming. In addition to this, I managed the successful implementation of both new special education and leadership development visions by partnering with 8 coaches, and training and managing 24 regional facilitators.

During my time as the Regional Director of Strategy and Innovation, I designed & facilitated 2 year-long leadership development plans for 25 cross-functional regional staff members, which strengthened staff culture and improved staff retention by 93%. I also led 3 specialized, week-long Leadership Journeys for 60 staff members. Furthermore, I created & led the Transformational Teacher Leadership Fellowship group of corps members craving additional coaching and development. Through this pilot, I devised what would become a regional programmatic model for leadership development, in which local groups repeatedly had among the highest data results across TFA nationally on all 3 key metrics. To amplify this group's development, I coordinated a 3-week trip to India and Nepal to connect with community partners to investigate various methods of transformational change; to do this I fundraised $32K within 5 weeks to finance the 21-person trip.

As an MTLD and the Manager of Special Education, I coached 32-42 corps members each year and consistently exceeded all regional goals. I designed and executed the first Louisiana Special Education Summit, consisting of 25 sessions attended by teachers statewide. I also revamped special education corps member experience by implementing 6-day Special Education Boot Camp & overhauling teacher matriculation processes.

I'm a proud founding team member for the first traditional KIPP school in New Orleans. I co-created the systems, routines, and procedures for the entire school. Some of my systems and classroom rituals have been implemented across the entire city of New Orleans. I also researched and wrote the 5-8 curriculum for English Language Arts. Students grew 4-5 years from 1 year of my English Language Arts instruction as measured on the Stanford-10 test. I've been celebrated as among the strongest teachers that both people locally and nationally had ever seen, and thus had visitors in my classroom nearly every day for two years.

I joined Teach For America as a Corps Member in 2002, and I taught at Garyville/Mt. Airy Math and Science Magnet School from 2002-2005. I was selected as Greater New Orleans' strongest teacher candidate for the national Sue Lehmann Excellence in Teaching Award in 2004. I'm certified through TNTP in 1-12 Mild/Moderate Special Education, and I completed my add-on general education 1-5 certification through coursework completed at the University of New Orleans with a 4.0 grade point average. At Garyville Magnet School, I taught 2nd and 4th grade inclusion special education during the first 3 years of the school shifting from a resource-based special education model to a full inclusion special education model. I also served on our school's community connection team.In 2005, I was a member of the 10-person turnaround team when my principal was transferred across the school district to turn around a school in danger of being taken over by the state of Louisiana. During the 2005-2006 school year, I taught a fluctuating class of 25-40 students as that was the year Hurricane Katrina devastated our region. 100% of my students passed the high-stakes LEAP test.
