Spread-headed multiple projects and initiatives implemented cost optimization strategies, achieving substantial savings while enhancing operational effectiveness.Major projects:• Enabling PCR achieving 25% less use of virgin plastic by 2023 (aimed 100% by 2025).• Completed two projects PSLG & PML in 2022 with gold rating in skincare category.• Localized molds reduce dependence on foreign vendors yielding PKR 500 Mn in annual savings.• Business Process Reengineering in sauces segment moving away from glass to multilayer flexi-packs.• IML technology implementation across Pakistan.• Other initiatives include ‘should-cost model’, ‘mold lifecycle management’, and ‘tube strategy redesign’.Major successes:• Project Shift: Optimized high-speed factory packaging achieving PKR 30 Mn in annual savings.• Conducted supply chain analysis, rectifying contamination, and swiftly onboarded new suppliers.• Led localization initiatives resulting in cost savings and reduced carbon footprint.• Spearheaded Magnum wrapper localization to achieve a 50% reduction in carbon footprint and PKR 100.5 Mn in savings per year.• Managed change of ice-cream packaging to a sustainable, smart plastic box to improve cost.

Project Shift – Factory Revamping (Savings: 30 Mn PKR): Develop and implement a procurement strategy to create margin accretive packaging for high-speed factory machines and remove constraints from volume delivery on LUP.Quality Improvement at Supplier End: Conducted a supply chain analysis for weevil contamination in IC cups, suggested improvements for supplier premises, logistics, and IC factory, and developed a new supplier quickly to ensure business continuity.Localization: Localized IC Spoon by switching from wood to plastic, resulting in base savings, equivalent to saving 75 million wooden spoons or about 200 trees a year. This also led to a 20% spend reduction, 90% inventory reduction, and saved 0.07 million Euro.By localizing of IC Tubs from Belgium we are able to reduce: 90% on Carbon Foot print, 75% in Leadtime & 80% on DOH Along IML technology built at supplier end without any Unilever Investment.Localized Magnum wrapper to reduce lead time and DOH, resulting in around €32 thousand material cost savings, a 70 bps improvement, and a 50% reduction in carbon footprint in IC category after 2 years of extensive trials.

To achieve the desired savings, separate out the saving projects and put them into action.• Evaluate supply and demand properly, identify and manage market risks and opportunities, and analyze the material and economic markets.• Assigning daily assignments to 3P subordinates and monitoring the timely completion of deadlines.• Improve the responsiveness of the supply chain and shorten lead times to increase time to market.
