With around three decades of global experience, I am a versatile and passionate leader who retired at 41 from full-time work and now enjoys growing startups across the country as a farmer. As a partner at Acumen Fund, a New York-based impact venture fund, I advise and support social enterprises that tackle poverty and injustice in India and beyond. As a lead angel investor and founding angel of IAN Impact, I have invested in 31 startups, led 16 deals, served 12 boards, seen 9 exits, and 2 write-offs, with one of them, Uniphore, becoming a unicorn with 120x return.I am also an author of "Back to Bharat: In search of a sustainable future", a book that explores the potential of India's rural economy and innovation. As a co-founder, chairman, and interim CEO of Nativelead Foundation, I enable, nurture, incubate, and invest in entrepreneurship in non-metros of Tamil Nadu, with the vision to empower native angels. As an adviser and mentor, I have served over a decade at NSRCEL, IIMB, and other prestigious institutions, fostering the growth of young entrepreneurs and innovators. I have also built KisanMitr, a national digital platform to make farmers self-reliant, in collaboration with the Principal Scientific Advisor's office, and contributed to the NITI Aayog's consultation group on science, technology, and innovation.
