The journey into Lune started with a fundamental question - Why is it so hard to have fun playing your guitar. Both myself and my Co-founder having gone through the journey of learning to play guitar and ultimately leaving it in the dust, quickly realized the myriad of battles that one silently faces when going down the journey of learning an instrument. These battles slowly add up to frustration and fatigue and finally quitting. Studies show that 90% of people quit playing in the first year because they find guitar playing overwhelming and frustrating. Expanding my skillsets into hands on people management. I personally want to continue down the career path of Engineering Leadership and have been playing a role similar to project manager for the location team (along with personal projects). I currently help facilitate 6 highly talented engineers wide across the spectrum on industry experience at the world's Best Indoor Location Services Company

Currently involved in technical leadership role for the location team. A major part of my day to day includes Architecture, Design, Resource planning and Overseeing implementation for all projects under core location. With the completion of backend streamlining, cost to locate a client reduced to 1/3 of its original cost. Our backend currently provides real time location for roughly 2.4 million wifi clients* and 400,000 BLE clients** at any given time* - connected and unconnected clients** - assets and passive BLE

Covid shocked the world the beginning of 2020. Trying to help in any way we can, we were all hands on deck for a set of covid services that provided utilities such as hot zone alerting and localized contact tracing. In addition, to address the growing customer load I began the task of streamlining our backend.In the meanwhile, PoCs continued to grow and we were involved in many big logos. Location had grown over a 100% YoY.

Mist Systems was acquired by Juniper Networks April of 2019. For the location team this meant a whole new untapped customer base, most of whom were interested in experimenting with location. A lot of energy during this time were spent on POCs and working with the customer on shaping our product - the APIs, external data pipelines and how the data was presented to the customer. The load on our backend was gradually increasing and we would be feeling the brunt of it soon.

Came back to working for Mist Systems after my final semester of Graduate School. At this time, Mist Location was actively involved in a couple POCs for their vBLE technology, customer engagement app and turn by turn navigation. To penetrate further into the Location market, we also began to position ourselves in the BLE asset space - especially in verticals like hospitals, offices, and retail. Fresh out of graduate school, I was tasked with the job of creating a Location Engine Algorithm that could provide the best possible accuracy (with the least tradeoff on latency) for BLE assets and subsequently implementing the algorithm as part of the Asset Visibility service - which would be a real time service delivering realtime location to all our BLE asset clients across the Mist Universe. Our work on the the Location Engine Algorithm was protected under the patent - "Methods and apparatus for using received signal strength information in a wireless system"

Course : Special Topics in Communication : Network Economics and Resource Allocation

Mist brings AI to the cloud managed WiFi world - Enabling for a better end user experience on the network. To complete the circle of AI Ops and for providing enterprises to take geostationary information based actionable insights, all Mist Access points have a Bluetooth Radio for the enablement of Location services. My internship wrk at Mist involved building a mathematical model for the BLE antenna in the field, that would ultimately be used in the Location Engine Algorithm

Continuing research work from the course - Network Economics and Resource allocation, on a game theoretic model for services such as Verizon's "PopData". Worked on developing a terrain traversability algorithm for an autonomous rover. The project involved using a commercial IR camera, such as found in the Microsoft Kinect and use the obtained point cloud to gauge the incline of the surface
