Founding team at WhatsApp Payments and early engineer on Diem (Facebook Crypto) on WhatsApp. Launched WhatsApp Pay (0 to 1) in emerging markets of India, Brazil, and Mexico. All three were blocked after launch by respective governments with new targeted anti-Facebook legislation. Successfully relaunched Payments in India, and Brazil by bringing product back into compliance, working tightly with legal teams, before I left Facebook.Subject matter expert on Compliance in Payments, Crypto, Data, Privacy, Security, KYC, AML, CTF, and GDPR. I led WhatsApp GDPR Compliance Engineering for Data, and Payments before a full team was built up to allow me to focus fully on Payments.

Made security keys, WebAuthn mainstream. I built large scale distributed systems, and micro services behind the Social Graph, Core User Data, and Twitter API at ultra low latency, at the heart of Twitter, building critical path infrastructure that operates at a scale of ~50 million requests per second with sub 5 ms latency. My interests included Data Protection and Privacy By Design at Scale.

Built the world's largest peer to peer file network which started as my pet project.I owned and drove engineering and user experiences for Office Installs, Updates, Upgrades, and the backbone infrastructure for Peer-2-Peer networking, and experimentation for Office 365 Windows (aka Office Click 2 Run). Think- Bit Torrent by Microsoft. This effort has unblocked the broader Office 365 enterprise adoption, besides saving an estimated $2,000,000 USD in YoY costs due to reducing the failures by up to 95% and reducing the bandwidth consumption by an average of 50%.Beyond my official job, I moonlighted with the Applied Sciences division envisioning, incubating and prototyping experimental next gen products and services, in collaboration with different stakeholders at Microsoft including Surface (Hardware), Corp Strategy, Bing, and Windows.

I rewrote decades old core libraries that are at the heart of Microsoft Office, working with the global Office World Wide Delivery (WWD) team. Re-architecture was needed to make decades of cross-platform legacy Microsoft Office shared core-libraries more modular, and modern to allow for higher engineering velocity and allow for leaner codebase leveraging modern security and engineering primitives built into the programming languages themselves which Microsoft had to build from scratch internally decades ago.Working with the Office Marketplace EXperience (OMEX) team, using full stack web development technologies, I developed the Office 365 customer acquisition and account/product management experience which includes creating and monitoring resilient service endpoints, and collaborating across teams (Licensing, Payment, Delivery) to achieve a consistent, and meaningful UX and handoffs, with emphasis on performance.In order to address the emerging business needs, I've invented and filed for a patent on an authentication technology.

I invented algorithms to make data center networking really efficient while also making it cheaper than before to build the networking devices. i.e., allowing switches to do more with less of the expensive hardware.Was part of the Next Generation Systems & Smarter Planet Solutions Group where I worked with researchers on Software Defined Networks, leading up to conference presentations, journal publications and patents.
