Implementation of a methodology to cut-over IT related projects (see publication). The facilitated release model requires a distinction between a project-specific cut-over and a release-specific rollout. This separation gives rise to two types of go-live scenarios: one for each participating project and one for each release.Responsible for planning and execution of Otto’s IT release, which bundles about 15 to 25 projects and 20 applications. Six releases are deployed every year. The preparation of the IT release is managed as a project. Activities include (i) the creation of detailed deployment schedules and scheduling of resources in MS Project, (ii) compilation of the rollout handbook, (iii) identification of dependencies between participating projects and involved applications by the use of matrices, (iv) creation of templates for participating projects, (v) quality assurance of cut-over related deliverables, (vi) risk management, (vii) creation of the rollout-newsletter and videos as part of the communication strategy, (viii) implementation and utilization of KPI’s in order to improve the release and deployment process, (ix) status reporting of go-live preparation, (x) leading variety of workshops related to topics such as “lessons learned after rollout”, “scope clarification”, “go-live preparation” and many things more…
