The CRM Carpenters is a Zoho consulting agency focused on helping for-purpose organisations. We build bespoke integrations for Zoho CRM, Creator and other Zoho apps.

Okra brings electricity to hard to reach communities in South East Asia and Africa who can't access conventional grids. We set up mesh grids that deliver reliable power at a low capital cost.I'm helping build out tools for electricity distributors who buy Okra's hardware. Our web and mobile apps allow installers to sign up new customers and prioritise maintenance actions (e.g. replacing panels).

Smooth Messenger is an SMS plugin for Zoho CRM that helps businesses get critical messages out to their customers. In Feb 2022, the business was acquired by MessageMedia, a global leader in business SMS solutions.

GOFAR is a vehicle fuel efficiency startup that helps drivers save fuel and drive more safely through an in-car device that prompts behaviour change (10% average fuel savings). Vehicle emissions are Australia's fastest growing source of CO2e emissions. In the absence of real government vehicle emission policy, GOFAR's technology is an important bulwark against further emission increases.I am responsible for building out GOFAR's data API. The GOFAR app collects telematics data every two seconds and pushes it up to the backend. My job is to make sure we can continue to process the data as the number of drivers grows.Key achievements:* Upgraded backend API from loopback 2 to loopback 3* Migrated server infrastructure from a manually "clicked together" elastic beanstalk stack to running in ECS controlled by CDK (AWS's new infrastructure as code offering)* Improved security with isolated accounts for each environment and moved databases into private subnets* Built subscription billing system integrating with Chargebee and a roadside assistance provider* Set up CI* Productionised XGBoost machine learning model* Created data ingest pipeline + data warehouse in S3* Introduced eslint and prettier* Prepared documentation for all backend services, added code comments to explain business rules and used clean code principles to make code more understandable (e.g. ((x) => x.durationInSeconds) becomes ((trip) => trip.durationInSeconds)* Set up incident reporting framework* Updated backend API from loopback's "auto-migrations" (fraught with danger) to scripted migrations

I helped build Energylink’s energy management platform which helps businesses reduce their electricity usage and carbon emissions. Left because the company ran out of money and went into liquidation :(Responsibilities:- build front end interfaces using React + GraphQL- maintain Ruby on Rails monolith while we gradually split it into microservices- build APIs in Rails/Node Lambda functions- maintain infrastructure in AWS using Terraform

I worked on Learnosity's authoring products, polishing the front end (Backbone.js) to make it simple for teachers to create questions for their students and improving accessibility so that visually impaired students could take part in the learning process. Biggest achievement during my time at LRN was improving unit test coverage. I led an effort to increase line coverage in a 30k LOC codebase from 25% when I started to 70%.

Nuanced IT is a web development agency I founded and ran after leaving uni. My clients ranged from startups (e.g. Pixc.com), small businesses (e.g. Nyko Property) to ASX listed clients (TPG, Downer EDI) as well as work on projects for Microsoft and Intel through Wallop Events. I principally worked with the Zoho suite, customising Zoho CRM and building custom apps in Zoho Creator.

Ridesharing Oz was an online ridesharing/car-pool application initially targeted towards sportspeople (e.g. runners and cyclists) who need a way to get to sporting events located far away from public transport.

Toastmasters offers an experiential public speaking and leadership training programme. If you're interested in boosting your confidence on stage, come and check out a toastmasters meeting. It's a supportive environment for personal and professional development. Best of all, it's really affordable! (Much cheaper than doing a leadership/speaking training course)My role is to welcome guests and help them decide whether Toastmasters is right for them.

What does it take to give thousands of young people the skills and confidence to tackle poverty head on? The Oaktree Foundation's Global Changers program is the answer. A select group of university students go through this experiential leadership course every year and become Dedicated and Effective Agents for Change, who empower all those around them to take massive action towards ending poverty.

I used Adobe Captivate to develop riveting e-learning programs which help Computershare staff do their jobs better.

I worked in the audit and validation team ensuring that high value and high risk transactions (off market transfers, deceased estate notings) were processed correctly. I was also involved in documenting procedures and training new staff.Outside of my regular duties, I assisted with Computershare's 2010 entry in the Australian Business Excellence awards and helped prepare a feasibility study for the installation of a major solar panel installation at the company's offices.

I researched a rare neurodegenerative disease, Spinocerebellar Ataxia 3, which disproportionately affects aborigines on Groote Eyelandt in Northern Australia.
