I joined UN ESCAP in May 2009 initially as the ESCAP Chief Economist and Director of Macroeconomic Policy and Development Division. Later I moved back to New Delhi to establish South and South-West Asia Office of UNESCAP and served as its Head. I served as the Director-General and CEO of RIS a New Delhi based policy think-tank of the Government of India devoted to international economic affairs during 2002-09. Before that I was the Senior Fellow and Deputy Director General of RIS since 1998.
