I work closely with the German Machine Technicians who come out with new machinery for installation & commissioning when our company purchases new machinery or parts. Studying drawings or specifications to determine methods & sequences of operations.Checking prepared metal components for accuracy, using measuring instruments, testing assemble articles in the workshop to ensure accuracy of fit & marking out stock to be shaped & formed into metal parts by other workers. Lifting & hoisting components on to working surfaces, laying out & marking reference points, & aligning parts using measuring instruments.Drilling holes & tapping threads for bolting parts together, & assembling parts & sub-assemblies.Cutting, threading, bending & installing hydraulic & pneumatic pipes & lines, shrink-fitting parts during assembly using oxyacetylene torches & presses & assembling non-metallic parts.Verifying alignment of, & clearances between components using measuring instruments.Cleaning & lubricating assembled articlesErecting machinery & equipment on-site.Maintaining records & schedules of preventative maintenance, liaising with production departments & doing regular inspections of machines to ensure safe working conditions & attending to breakdowns efficiently to minimise downtime.
