Deputy Program Manager Of Engineering
CurrentAs an engineering project leader I have been responsible for cost accounts, risks management, schedules, and engineering activities for multiple contracts, proposals and research and development projects in the national communication segment on Department of Defense and Federal/Civil programs. This required coordination between engineering, management, customers, subcontracting organizations, contracts, and support organizations.Early this year I began leading a team of developers on an Agile Scrum project to bring Product Line Engineering to GD-MS. Prior to that I worked on a NASA program, taking lead on the development of a subsystem that contains nearly all of the functionality of the full-up system and which will serve as a configuration management system, asset management system, software deployment system, software test bed, hardware test bed, and training facility for the customer's new Space Network Ground Segment Sustainment Project. I have also been responsible for planning and managing the schedules, budgets and activities spread across eight cost accounts totaling $3.6 million dollars for a US Navy communication system. I coordinated the installation, test, and live demonstration of a several-million dollar Enterprise-capable Voice over IP switch network that was to be used for a live demonstration of the system's capabilities as part of a new business pursuit. This necessitated overseeing the schedules and efforts of two partnering subcontractors accounting for global participation.I partnered with the US Coast Guard on a program which provides enhancements to the US Coast Guard's National Distress and Response System for improved coverage and performance and technology refresh. I lead proposal efforts to fund work to add improved human-interface capabilities, and lead teams from requirements, implementation/test through deployment and final acceptance to add a tailored, reduced-scale remote fixed facility to the enhanced system
