Contributed to all aspects of the YIELDjet FLEX, an inkjet-printing platform for encapsulation of OLED displays, including print head electronics, print data pipeline, process development, ink chemistry, mechanical design, and user interface. Major accomplishments:- Developed a robust thin film encapsulation process from whiteboard concept to production of >100M flexible displays.- Awarded 18 US patents covering novel print algorithms to achieve a wide process window and to meet demanding customer specs on throughput and uniformity.- Saved 100s of hours of experiments by writing a comprehensive process simulator in MATLAB.- Established the production print data pipeline by first designing and implementing a prototype in MATLAB and then porting the code to C#.- Informed tool design through thermal and optical modeling of auxiliary process chambers in COMSOL and MATLAB. Validated modeling results by designing and executing experiments using LabVIEW.- Directly supported customers by representing Kateeva at display fabs in Asia for >4 months cumulatively.- Ensured timely delivery of custom software modules by managing relationships with external vendors.

- Enabled a biomedical startup to seek venture capital by designing their first MEMS blood pressure sensor.- Expedited process development at an LED startup by collecting critical AFM and ellipsometry data.- Increased revenue and capability at the Stanford Nanofabrication Facility by characterizing two new metal deposition tools.

- Realized >2x improvement in the lateral resolution of scanning gate microscopy, a technique for imaging electron flow, by designing self-sensing cantilever probes featuring coaxial tips with sub-micron apertures.- Achieved >80% fabrication yield by developing a robust, 7-mask, CMOS-compatible process.- Modeled mechanical and electrical properties of the probes in COMSOL and MATLAB and validated performance using commercial AFM platforms and a home-built cryogenic scanning system.

Reduced die cost of the nForce southbridge by architecting and implementing a single buffer and arbiter for all low-bandwidth clients, helping to make this chip the company’s highest volume platform product.

- Enhanced functional verification of several nForce and GeForce processors by emulating logic blocks on FPGAs, writing directed and random tests, and streamlining the in-house scripts for scan chain insertion.- Drove down ATE cost of the XBOX graphics processor by creating a script to automatically insert built-in self-test logic at various points in the netlist.

Enabled senior management to analyze terabytes of sales statistics via customizable, schedulable reports by developing an intuitive, Java-powered web portal for the Data Warehousing department.

Accelerated the process of software localization by designing an ActiveX web application that connects developers and translators worldwide and provides a searchable database of translated text strings.
