The Youth Peer Network (Y-PEER) in Egypt is part of a global initiative launched by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in 2002. The network aims to raise awareness among young people about sexual and reproductive health issues, adolescent health, and combating gender-based violence.The network operates through a variety of activities such as workshops, trainings, theatrical performances, sports events, and storytelling sessions. It also uses social media and the internet to spread awareness in creative and innovative ways, such as the “PeerCast” program, which is broadcast online and aims to raise awareness among young people.The network in Egypt includes around 125 non-governmental organizations, governmental institutions, and various youth initiatives. It operates in 26 governorates and includes hundreds of trainers and thousands of volunteers

The United Nations Population Fund, in collaboration with the National Council for Women, launched the activities of a training program aimed at eliminating harmful practices against girls, notably female genital mutilation.48 facilitators from the National Council for Women were trained on how to implement the "Intergenerational Dialogue" methodology. The training is scheduled to take place from April 28th to May 1st, 2024, with support from the Norwegian Embassy, the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), and in collaboration with "Out Reach" company.The "Intergenerational Dialogue" methodology is one of the specialized tools for social and behavioral change to eliminate harmful practices.

The “Dawwie” project is a national initiative for empowering girls in Egypt, launched by the National Council for Women and the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and UNICEF. The initiative aims to promote girls’ rights and empower them by providing safe spaces for them to express themselves and share their stories and experiences.“Dawwie” works on several fronts, including:Awareness and Education: Through workshops and seminars aimed at raising awareness about girls’ rights and issues.Training and Qualification: Providing training programs to develop girls’ skills in various fields.Psychological and Social Support: Offering psychological and social support to help girls overcome the challenges they face.Community Participation: Encouraging girls to participate in community activities and contribute to the development of their communities.The initiative is sponsored by Mrs. Entissar El-Sisi, the First Lady of Egypt, and operates in many Egyptian governorates to reach as many girls as possible.

The Mawaddah Initiative works to educate those about to get married about the concept of marriage, its goals, how to understand a life partner, and take into account his psychological, social, and cultural factors. It also works to provide participants with communication skills between spouses, solving family problems, positive upbringing, management of economic resources, and health factors related to the family. The training program is an inclusive program for people with disabilities and both genders, and is flexible and suitable for implementation in various Egyptian cultures. It is designed based on studying the causes of problems and how to treat them in a scientific and practical manner. The program is also designed using active learning techniques, to be based on participation, dialogue, and joint interaction, not reception
