Sr. Software EngineerUber Atg Oct 2019 - Feb 2021I transitioned back to being an IC focused on tooling for rapidly turning up and maintaining batch compute on-prem datacenters.I reduced machine provisioning time from 30 minutes down to 10 minutes.We were challenged to do the software turn up of a new datacenter in under 24 hours and we pulled it off in less than 12. That led to a successful migration of all user workloads out of the old datacenter into the new one so that we were able to decommission the old one on time.The last project I worked on was proof-of-concept work for migrating the on-prem provisioning toolchain to use cloud-init so that our customer teams could start building a single image to provision compute and storage clusters across both on-prem and cloud. That proof-of-concept was successful.
