Founded in 1992, After-School All-Stars (ASAS) provides free, daily afterschool programs to over 70,000 middle school-aged youth in over 300 school sites in 19 chapters across the U.S. Our vision is for our All-Stars to be safe and healthy, to graduate high school and go on to college, to find a career they love, and to give back to their communities. As the Executive Director, Dr. Ricks is responsible for setting the chapter’s strategic vision; overseeing quality afterschool programming throughout New Jersey; elevating the profile of the chapter; and developing and executing the chapter’s fundraising plan. Dr. Ricks is also responsible for building and maintaining strong partnerships with key stakeholders, including partner schools, board members, staff, government agencies, foundations, and program partners

SEEDS – Access Changes Everything, formerly New Jersey SEEDS, is a nonprofit organization founded in 1992 that prepares motivated, high-achieving, low-income students for admission to private schools and colleges across the country. As the Director of Programs Naima oversaw all aspects of student academic programming. The Director of Programs is responsible for ensuring the delivery of excellent educational programming that achieves the goal of preparing its students for success at competitive secondary schools and most, highly and very competitive colleges and universities.

As an elected school board member Naima was elected by the Borough of Roselle to represent her values, views, and desires for the public schools in the district.

In this role, Naima advised an academic enrichment program designed to help prepare undergraduate, junior high and high school students for licensed professions and scientific professions.

Our goal is to empower students to become actively engaged citizens.
