The Institute for Climate and Peace is a 501(c)(3) organization based out of Hawaiʻi. ICP is a climate justice organization that understands science and advances peace to build equity and resiliency for communities most affected by climate change. Within Hawaiʻi and the greater Pacific-Asia region, there exists relatively little climate change work that effectively centers the human experience and none outside of ICP that operates at the intersection of climate change and peacebuilding. We see an urgent need to change this and to catalyze a body of actions that centers justice and activates ground-up climate resilience and positive peace strategies. - COSIS aims to take collective action to protect and preserve the climate system, including the marine environment, through the promotion, progressive development, and implementation of rules and principles of international law concerning climate change.- Spearheaded requests for advisory opinions on behalf of Tuvalu and COSIS to the International Tribunal of the Law of the Sea and International Court of Justice on the topic of climate change.

- Two-year fellowship aimed to honor and memorialize the traditional ecological wisdom of Tuvaluan peoples, who currently face permanent displacement and the loss of statehood as a result of anthropogenic climate change. - Masters (LLM) in International Environmental Law (climate migration and ocean diplomacy)- Development of program that addresses a wide array of environmental sociocultural issues through collective capacity-building across Pacific communities in four areas: resilience, advocacy, environmental stewardship, and cultural connection. The program would aim to empower Pacific peoples in the face of potential climate displacement and loss of land and ocean resources.

Moana Tasi is a Pasifika-led organisation that seeks to address a wide array of environmental and sociocultural issues by holding space for Pasifika communities affected by climate change.

Co-founded KANU Offset, an online platform that facilitates the planting of carbon-sequestering trees (breadfruit) to nourish and regenerate our island home.

Designed capacity-building initiatives and educational curricula for environmental lawyers and judges in the Pacific region, tailored to embrace community-led perspectives and culturally responsive needs.

- Worked directly with Conservation International’s Hawaiʻi Conservation Policy and Incentives Lab, which works to understand complex conservation challenges facing ocean ecosystems in Hawai’i and the Pacific and to identify, develop, and test innovative solutions that meet the needs of people and benefit nature. - Researched the processes and mechanisms by which ocean conservation sites can formally acknowledge and incorporate Indigenous rights and authority into the governance and management frameworks.
