About Naira Sidi
I am currently pursing a M. Music Education at the Crane School of Music. Social justice education has been the focal point of my research. Diversity in backgrounds, skillsets, and learning styles are celebrated in my classroom. To me, true openness means tailoring teaching methods to ensure each student is well challenged and able to succeed while staying true to their authentic identities. I enjoy using Music Education to unlock a sense of responsibility in students as well as a sense of community amongst their peers. After achieving a task in the music classroom, children should feel a sense of empowerment and independence that will carry them beyond the music classroom and into the real world.
