Advise startups on efficiently creating a valuable IP portfolio across utility and design patents, trademarks, and open source including: - Evaluate any current IP, identify portfolio gaps, and advise on how to create a cost effective IP portfolio. - Manage the internal IP process, setting budgets and fixed fees, selecting and managing outside counsel, and driving the patent or trademark process from idea harvesting to filing and prosecution as needed. - Advise on general IP education and other legal issues across commercial agreements, data and privacy, and employment.- Advise on general product counseling issues.

- Conduct product review and due diligence for M&A to resolve issues concerning compliance, privacy, security, trust and safety, public policy, intellectual property, contracts and licenses, and infrastructure engineering.- Designed and implemented Dropbox's technical and operational integration plans for mergers and acquisitions (M&A). - Work as a liaison between Corporate Development, IT, HR, Legal, Senior Management and various Engineering teams to develop and execute the integration plans for each acquired company. - Understand and stay current on industry trends, competitive landscape and internal product development efforts to identify and evaluate acquisition opportunities.
