As ICT Business Applications Manager I am responsible for critical IT applications supporting a diverse range of Sacred Heart Mission client services including support for the homeless and aiding their return to social inclusion. The Mission runs an Aged Care facility, a Woman's Refuge, and Home Care support services. Partly funded by Government Agencies, Sacred Heart Mission also raises funds through a network of Op Shops owned and run by the Mission across Melbourne's inner east.The ICT Business Applications Manager is a new role recognising the importance of technology at Sacred Heart Mission to support effective services for our clients. Sourcing suitable Cloud based solutions and maintaining their currency in a quickly changing sector is important to the Mission. Based in Melbourne Naish performed a global level role leading teams across all 40+countries where Worley operated. His responsibilities were genuinely far-reaching working on key IT initiatives that directly supported Worley's business objectives. He managed cross functional and remote teams including low-cost centre India development projects. In his time at Wortley Naish led a substantial collection of global IT and GPMO (business lead) projects at a budget level of $3m to $5m pa He managed the vendor selection process and implementation for Managed Print Services (MPS). Led the implementation and established operations processes for Data Foundation - an enterprise-wide data warehouse using Cloud technologies (Snowflake). Wrote and negotiated the contract SOW for eLearning project. Vendor management performed on all projects – implementation & operations services Project types - Cloud package implementations, Security infrastructure, data warehouse (data lake and structured ETL tables).

As a principal consultant within the Project Management practice, Naish led client facing projects covering the Utilities, Telecommunications, and Finance (Investment Banking) sectors. Samples of roles:Developed a business case to support a significant data warehousing project at a leading Australian Telco. Estimated at ~$20M this project would bring together data from multiple channel sources.Led CRM enhancement program at a Victorian Government Commission (Utilities), maintaining a release delivery schedule, providing status of progress to an Cx level Steering Committee.

Responsible for client facing systems integration projects, and delivery consultancy for the commercial and finance sectors.Samples of roles:Led RFP open tender responses, coordinating efforts of cross functional teams, and gaining management approval for response documents providing commercial profitability.Managed the business case development for a mainframe replacement program at a global investment banking institute. Led a group of SMEs and consultants across Australia and New Zealand to evaluate tender responses and formulate scoring to support a proposal for internal funding.

Led IT service engagements, managed client relationships, and contributed to business development within the Unisys Global Commercial Industries (GCI) group. As a senior delivery consultant Naish was Practice Manager for Southern Australia within an Asia Pacific team.Contributions:Maintained Exec level relationships and identified opportunities for large clients including Qantas Airlines (Engineering & Maintenance), and Hi Fert. Requested to be their prime Unisys representative, and nominated for multiple service delivery awards.Responsible for a portfolio of cross discipline projects. His ability to relate business problems to technical solutions helped identify related programs of work.Regional lead for the rollout of a number of global solution programs including process modelling, and applications services portfolio management.Accountable for developing and presenting to APAC Management fixed priced project delivery models. In this role Naish would shape service delivery programs across multiple groups within Unisys.

Software Engineer – 2200 Series Specialist: Naish developed functionality for LINC through regular scheduled LINC releases, especially those requiring a high level of integration with the 2200 Series operating system. This experience provided him with a full understanding of the commercial software development lifecycle, and the value of meeting client expectations in providing successful outcomes.Contributions:Designed and developed a LINC distributed database solution (named XTC) to coordinate transaction activity on large distributed system servers.Represented Aoraki at the Unisys User conference in France providing demonstrations of software functionality.

Systems Software Specialist: Providing technical lead and team leadership supporting the Unisys mainframes. Applications included Airline Reservations, and Check In, and Aircraft Engineering and Maintenance (Cameo & Supply)Starting as a computer operator and then moving to systems programmer, Naish developed into a senior systems specialist. In his final years at the airline, he managed the Unisys Systems group. In this role he was responsible for maintaining 99.9% availability of the underlying platforms for the Airline’s reservations, cargo, and aircraft engineering systems. During this time Naish learnt how to manage change to real-time business critical IT systems.
