Profile bio

About Naja N.

I would describe myself as idealist. I am committed to improving the lives of those around me. My passion for advocacy was discovered in high school where I began serving with Relay For Life as the chairman for Norcross High School and Gwinnett United In Drug Education as a Board of Directors and Youth Advisory Board member. Through work experience with California Pizza Kitchen in Atlanta, Georgia and Academic Technologies’ Solution Center at The George Washington University, I have gained a valuable understanding of what I want to do with my life. Obtaining experience in hospitality and customer service has brought me to the realization that I would like to continue to use my time to fulfill the needs of others. While these two professions are vastly different in practice, they have both equipped me with transferable skills. I now feel appropriately prepared to be both hospitable and adaptable when faced with a challenging or potentially uncomfortable situation. As an International Affairs major I have gained extensive transferable skills in relevant courses such as International Affairs, Development Politics, Sociocultural Anthropology. Through these courses I have gained strong interpersonal skills through group presentations and critical thinking abilities as each of these courses are reading and writing intensive. I am eager to apply these skills with governmental and nonprofit organizations working in the following fields: Public Policy, Human Rights Advocacy, Global Health, and International Development.
