Nalin started his Marketing and Management career in 1993 as a Medial Representative and expanded his career into both profit and non-profit making sectors. Nalin holds his Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture from the University of Peradeniya and Master's Degree in Economics from the University of Colombo. He is a qualified marketer with a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing obtained from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) - UK. He was also a Chartered Marketer of the same. At present, Nalin holds the position of National Programme Manager – Sri Lanka UN-REDD Programme, a joint UN Initiative with the Government of Sri Lanka. He is a Certified Trainer and a Facilitator and has specialised in areas such as Customer Service, Marketing and Project Management. Nalin has trained over 3500 banking officials to date. He has also been working as a consultant for organizations such as ISB, SDA, MDF South Asia in assessing organizational capacities for business excellence, developing business plans and marketing strategies for micro enterprises, evaluating business plans and training programmes and measuring performance of employees subject to training in several occasions.Nalin is a faculty member for MBAs of Cardiff Metropolitan at ICBT Campus and Bucks – UK at SLIM. In addition, he is also a visiting lecturer for MSc Qualifications in Development Communication and Project Management at the PGIA of University of Peradeniya. He serves SLIM as a lecturer for almost 13 years and a member of the SLIM and an active member of the Education Reforms Committee. In 2006, he produced the World Price Winner for the CIM subject - Marketing Fundamentals which was the first ever from Kandy. To date he has imparted knowledge to over 10,000 students during the last 13 years. He has also served as a recognised examiner and a Research Supervisor for over 500 Post Graduate Diploma and MBA students at SLIM and ICBT respectively.
