As the Environment Program Manager at RWE Npower, a major utility company, implemented the Environment Management process to streamline release planning and delivery. It involved: Creating and publishing weekly environment plan to track environment usage. Providing environment availability inputs for Release Planning. Defining and setting up the end to end process for collecting and maintaining technical specifications and usage data for multiple technical environments.Planning and managing Data refresh activities for multiple environments. Creation of Configuration Management framework.This required regular interaction, a lot of stakeholder and expectation management involving business release managers, project managers, program managers, test managers, infrastructure and application development leads in a multi platform and extremely complex architectural landscape. Some of these processes had to be built from scratch.

• As a program manager delivered a major SAP BI Remediation Program at GSK, a leading pharmaceutical giant based in Brentford, UK. • The main objective of the Remediation program, with a budget of circa £1.2 m was to enable simplification of the SAP BI estate in order to improve response times and make it more secure, stable and scalable. • Utilising a team of onsite and offshore SAP BI experts, the projects involved speeding up of the reporting layer, simplification of existing complex data flows, identification and removal of redundant data flows, simplification of access management and implementation of system tools to monitor code quality. As a direct result the financial analysts were able to get their data quicker even with growing data volumes as more markets were being added, leading to enhanced user experience and operational efficiencies.

Basel Area, Switzerland

• The project was based in Basel, Switzerland, at Novartis, a leading pharmaceutical giant, where I was a PMO Lead (ICE Silver qualified) within their Global Infrastructure Services (GIS) team, which sources and supplies Infrastructure services to different divisions within Novartis around the world. • As part of this project, I delivered a complete BI and Financial Reporting Solution with a budget of $ 2.5 m, through the entire SDLC from requirements analysis all the way to delivery and handovers, following Novartis’ internal project management methodology (ICE) and ensuring compliance with their internal quality procedures. • Utilising a team of internal and external, software and business experts, the solution replaced a number of legacy bespoke applications and data sources, used for budgeting and pricing activities providing ‘Cost to Charge’ transparency and a ‘single source of truth’. The resulting web based system is now being used by the local finance teams and service managers across the world. The delivery included complete IT Environments, including hardware infrastructure and software, and associated change management, configuration processes and procedures. This led to major cost savings as the entire budget and primary cost validation process and associated reporting was automated.

Responsible for line management & project delivery for the teams (16 members), main areas of responsibility being:Providing leadership & motivation.Interpretation of business requirements, providing costs, evaluating and suggesting best-fit technical solutions for business needs.Project monitoring and tracking to ensure delivery.Providing technical direction in a multi-platform environment.Ensuring compliance with technical strategy and regulatory bodies like FSA, (TCF, AML, Sanctions, PCI DSS & Solvency II ).Performance evaluation & management.

Managing a team of 8 s/w specialists responsible for the maintenance & production of all customer document templates across different Insurance products. The templates have been created using document rendering software like CSF and Thunderhead.

Ensure availability of multi-platform technical environments with appropriate infrastructure for development & testing of multiple releases. Monitoring the project portfolio to aid planning for environment availability. Drive out any issues that may affect delivery.

Responsible for delivery of Releases, each having multiple projects. Involved resolving issues and managing stakeholders like PMs, programme managers, test managers, business reps, tech. experts and production acceptance managers regularly to ensure timely, within budget, smooth implementation.

This was a tougher challenge as it involved all Insurance products. Succesfully supported multiple releases in parallel, each consisting of multiple projects.

As part of one of the largest and most complex integration projects in the UK, moving Churchill and Directline Insurance data on a single platform and moving it from Directline's data centre in Croydon to RBS groups data centre in Edinburgh. Supported Testing and Warranty for Motor and Rescue Application systems, was recommended for Chief Exec's award which I subsequently won while performing this role.

Responsible for delivery of technical solutions (design & build) for projects and production support for the above mentioned system. Performed various roles including Project Leader, Line Manager, Team Leader ,Application analyst, programmer & designer.
