Graphic Design Coordinator
Current• Coordinating and executing marketing projects for 5 community colleges (under the district name of Metropolitan Community College) including MCC-Penn Valley, MCC-Longview, MCC-Blue River, MCC-Maple Woods and MCC-Business and Technology.• Work load includes a broad spectrum of projects from the district marketing director, campus marketing coordinators, district print shop, staff and faculty members as well as outside vendors/printers.This involves being part of the initial conceptualization of projects, identifying the target audience, developing a plan or strategy to accomplish the initiative as well as creating the design and layout to meet the goal and purpose of the project.• Part of a small marketing team that helped draw in new students for a total enrollment increase of 10% in 2008 and a 14% increase in 2009.• Ability to bring a project to fruition through the use of many different media types, software and tools to fit the need of the project.• Projects and assignments include print design/layout, illustration, branding, logo creation, web-based design, photo re-touching/manipulation, photography, photo-shoot direction and the understanding of print processes and materials.• Managing multiple projects at a time while working with each projects’ respective client and able to complete the project on time while accomplishing the goal and purpose of the project.• Completing between 500-600 jobs/projects per year.• Creating relevant marketing by maintaining a fresh and up-to-date awareness of current art/design/photography trends while also pushing the boundaries to stay above the curve."We're extremely lucky to have someone with Spencer's caliber, creativity, talent and work ethic at MCC and part of our team."- Tom Vansaghi, Ph.D.Associate Vice Chancellor of College and Community RelationsMetropolitan Community College-Kansas City
